As of Apr 4, quality control/food safety new system will start working within Ukraine

As of this year Apr 4, a new system of quality control and food safety will start working within Ukraine, Government Portal says referring to Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, report.
As to Tsintsadze, it goes about the coming into force of the Law of Ukraine «On State Control over Compliance with Legislation on Foods, Feeds, By-products of Animal Origin, Health and Welfare of Animals».
As to her, the new law, on the one hand, will create conditions for ensuring a better quality and safety of food products for consumers and, on the other hand, introduce clear and transparent procedures of inspections to minimize corruption risks and promote the development of fair market competition.
As to her, the companies will be checked depending on the degree of risk which their ready products make to life and health of people (for example, at the shop where packaged long-term products are sold, the risk is lower than at the shop where fresh meat is sold). Besides, due to the new law, inspectors of the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection will make their inspections only due to the Verification Act. This document will contain an exhaustive number of questions for verification and will be public, thus minimizing the corruption risks.
As to her, if violating the new law, companies will be severely punished; thus, the legal entities can be fined up to UAH70,000 (depending on the law breech committed). In case of the identification of factors that pose a danger to the life and health of people, the inspector may decide on the temporary cessation of the output process and/or ready products sale.
