Cabinet to refund some UAH1 milliard for purchase of Ukraine-made agricultural machinery

17.02.2017 14:46 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The Cabinet will boost the funding for the program of compensation for the cost of Ukraine-produced agricultural equipment from UAH550 million this year up to UAH1 milliard within 2018, UNIAN says referring to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman today report made within his visit to an agricultural exhibition in Kyiv. As to him, the program of a 15% compensation of the Ukraine-made agricultural machinery cost for the Ukrainian farmers will be continued into 2018. «Agricultural engineering is of great importance for Ukraine. We want to develop the economy, but this would be impossible without the creation of high-quality competitive domestic products. Ukrainians today spend about UAH10 milliard for the purchase of various agricultural equipment, and of this sum only UAH1.5 milliard is spent on equipment, produced in Ukraine,» Groisman stressed. «This year we are allocating UAH550 million for a 15% refund of the purchase of Ukraine-produced equipment, which has a 60% localization of output,» he admitted. As to Groisman, the Government task is to boost the share of Ukrainian equipment on the Ukrainian market. «We will compensate the buyers, not the producers, so that the buyers could choose where to buy their equipment,» he said. As to Groisman, the financing will total about UAH1 milliard next year. «Some 100,000 people are employed in this sector,» Groisman admitted.
