Azarov: Ukraine to do all "hometasks" in the framework of implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU

14.10.2013 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ukraine is ready to do all «the hometasks» which emerge in the process of implementation of the Association Agreement and creation of a free trade area with the European Union, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov informed in the Parliament during a roundtable dedicated to European integration issues within last week, Government Portal reports. He added that on September 27 there had been submitted for considering by the EU a draft program of implementation of the Agreement. After receiving remarks of European experts the Program will be submitted for public discussion. According to the Head of the Government Ukraine realizes clearly that the Agreement by opening in front of Ukraine wide prospects of entering European political and economic space, at the same time it puts not simple tasks in its implementation and demands intense and well-coordinated work not only of the Government and Parliament but also business environment and society. «As the majority of provisions of the Agreement especially concerning functioning of the free trade area is so-called „homework» for our state and creating of such conditions, in the first place of legal ones, under which the free trade zone will be mutually beneficial. And this work has been commenced," Mykola Azarov informed. Certainly, a deep and overall free trade area will create unique opportunities to ensure accelerated modernization of Ukrainian economics, improvement of investment attractiveness of Ukraine, raising of competitiveness of Ukrainian producers not only on the EU market but on the markets of Third countries. «We are obliged to use these opportunities,» the Prime Minister added. But this way is rather challenging as ambitious tasks are set in front of our state, Ukraine is to face serious economic transformations. «Implementation of technical norms and standards needs huge volumes of work and significant investments and these have to be our principal tasks from 2014,» Mykola Azarov informed. At this he expressed hopes that the European Commission would adopt a decision on rendering to Ukraine an adequate financial and technical assistance to support competitiveness of the national production that complies with requirements of European market and also facilitating drawing investments and development of presence of Ukraine on new markets. «I am convinced that together with our European colleagues we will pass this way successfully,» Mykola Azarov stressed.
