Wind Farms of Ukraine builds first phase of Krasnodon wind power plant

The group of companies Wind Farms of Ukraine has built a first phase of the Krasnodon wind power plant in Krasnodon district of Luhansk region with two FL 2500–100 wind turbines, which total capacity is 5 MW, a representative of the group said at a meeting of the National Commission for Energy Regulation (NCER) in Kyiv on Thursday, NRCU reports.
The commission issued a license for power generation to the Krasnodon wind power plant. The group representative said that in the future, the Wind Farms of Ukraine plans to finish the startup work for another two turbines, which have been installed at the plant, and he asked the commission to revise the plants capacity and the feed-in tariff. The projected capacity of the Krasnodon wind power plant is 25 MW. Ukrainian-made turbines are used in the construction of the plant, and the local content rule is observed, he said. As reported, Wind Farms of Ukraine has launched wind turbines with a capacity of 57.5 MW at Novoazovsky Wind Farm (Donetsk region), 37.5 MW at Ochakiv Wind Farm (Mykolaiv region) and 25 MW at Kerch Wind Farm (Crimea). At present, the group is assembling 10 wind turbines with capacities of 2.5 MW each on the Prysyvashsky Wind Farm (Crimea). In addition, in 2013, the group will install two new wind turbines with a total capacity of 5 MW for Vitroenergoprom (Donetsk region). In the past two years, alternative energy in Ukraine has been developing more intensively than traditional power generation. As of early June 2013, 96 companies operated 149 power plants consuming alternative energy.
