Customs service ahead of budget plan each month

The State Customs Service continually runs ahead of the state budget proceeds plan. Since the beginning of the year, customs officers have transferred to the treasury about 60 billion UAH.
The chairman of the service, Ihor Kaletnik, said this during the celebrations marking the Day of Customs Service on Monday. «Month after month the customs go ahead of the schedule for filling the state budget. Every day customs enrich the state treasury by 650 million UAH. Since the beginning of the year nearly 60 billion UAH has been transferred,» he said. Kaletnik said the customs service performs the strategic objectives for the execution of the state budget, effective anti-smuggling, and bringing customs procedures to the best European models, set before it by the President. «Our main achievement is that we have made everyone take the customs service not as a bureaucratic machine, but as a modern and flexible system, which forms favorable business environment and investment climate, protects the interests of society and state, and above all its citizens,» he said. In this context, the head of the customs service reminded about the Electronic Customs project, the introduction of which was launched last year. Kaletnik noted that to date 15% of all declarations are sent in an electronic form, and by the end of the year this figure must be at least 50%. The customs chairman said that a system of risk analysis and monitoring services is also being successfully implemented to make customs operation even more transparent.
