Ukraine, Jordan will cooperate in professional education, agriculture

Ukraine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan signed a number of important bipartite documents during a visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to this country on April 16–17.
The signature ceremony took place at the royal palace in the city of Amman. In particular, an Agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Jordan government on cooperation in the sphere of professional education. The document envisages arrangement of cooperation between the governments in the sphere of vocational and technical training, exchange of experience and management of professional education and information on its normative regulation, as well as carrying out joint studies. An agreement was also signed between the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine and the Agriculture Ministry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on cooperation in the sphere of the plant’s quarantine, which has to ensure coordination of phytosanitary measures. The document provides for creation of favorable conditions for cooperation on prevention of import and spread of regulated harmful organisms, as well as spread of cooperation in the sphere of quarantine and protection of plants. The Education and Science, Youth and Sport Ministry of Ukraine and the Jordan Youth and Sport Ministry have also signed an agreement. This document creates a legal basis for intensification of contacts between Ukraine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the youth and sports spheres, as well as envisages expansion of cooperation between the Olympic Committees of both states. A Memorandum was also signed between the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine and the Agriculture Ministry of Jordan on economic, scientific and technical cooperation. The document envisages creation of a legal basis for development of economic and scientific-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Jordan in agriculture and the food industry. The State Agency of Ukraine for Investments and Management of National Projects and the Jordan Investment Board signed a Memorandum, envisaging creation of favorable conditions for development of investment cooperation.
