Within Mar 17-18 Baranovskiy will discuss Ukrainian grain export problems with Libyan representatives

Minister of Agrarian Policy Oleksandr Baranovskiy will hold talks in Libya within Mar 17–18 on Ukrainian grain export to this country, reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to report, talks will be focused on possible Ukrainian food/feed grain export.
Baranovskiy will visit Libya due to President Viktor Yushchenko commission as well as according to Bilateral Ukrainian-Libyan Cooperation Commission Third General Session agreements.
As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts, Ukraine can export to Libya ≈ 50.000–100.000t mixed feeds and 10.000t premixes. This question will be as well negotiated.
«Certain agreements within this sphere as well as joint projects on cattle/sheep feeding restoring are planned to be achieved,» runs press-service report.
Ukrainian delegation is as well to discuss Ukrainian sugar/sunoil export to Libya. Ukraine is also interested in Libyan investments attracting for fishing fleet development
with subsequent fish products selling on Libyan/African countries market.
Presently Ukraine exports to Libya mainly grains.
In 2003, during Ukrainian President visit to Libya, veterinary medicine/plants sorts protection as well as plants quarantine agreements were signed; Joint Ukrainian-Libyan Venture on grain production was founded and started functioning.
As earlier reported, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had previously declared about Algeria and Libya being interested in Ukrainian grain big lots purchasing.
Earlier Libya had confirmed its readiness to import 0.4 million tons food wheat from Ukraine annually.
In 2004/05 MY Libya is to raise wheat import up to 2.5 million tons due to domestic flour industry development.
