Feb cattle number up 3.4%, to 7.2 million heads

23.03.2005 11:04 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Feb cattle number has grown to 7.200.300 heads (as to Mar 1 data), up 233.400 heads (+ 3.4%) against Jan, reported State Statistic Committee. As to report, cows number has remained practically as of Feb (3.943.700 heads). As to Mar 1 data, individual economies and specialized agricultural companies Feb cattle number has grown to correspondingly 4.463.000 and 2.737.300 heads, up 189.300 heads (+ 4.4%) and 44.100 heads (+ 1.6%) against Jan. This year Mar 1 cattle number has shortened 609.700 heads (- 7.8%) against last year Mar1, with individual economies cattle number having declined 4.5% and specialized agricultural companies having fallen 12.7%. As earlier reported, Jan cattle number had shortened to 6.966.900 heads (as of Feb 1), down 191.300 heads (- 2.7%) against Dec, while cows number had lowered to 3.945.600 heads (as of Feb 1), down 115.200 heads (- 2.8%) against Dec.
