Ukraine completes harvesting early grains/leguminous crops, threshing 34.3 million tons

30.08.2018 18:31 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ukrainian agrarians have completed harvesting early grains/leguminous crops, threshing 34.3 million tons from 9.9 million ha (average yield -34.8 centners per ha), down against 37.3 million tons from 9.6 million ha within 2017, Interfax-Ukraine says referring the the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Foods report . Thus, the agrarians have harvested 25.1 million tons wheat from 6.6 million ha (average yield — 38 centners per ha); 7.5 million tons barley from 2.5 million ha (average yield — 30.3 centners per ha); 391,600 tons rye from 147,500 ha (average yield — 26.5 centners per ha); 451,000 tons oats from 195,200 ha (average yield — 23.1 centners per ha) and 801,000 tons peas from 431,500 ha (average yield — 18.6 centners per ha). Reportedly, agrarians also threshed 22,000 tons buckwheat from 16,000 ha (average yield — 13.7 centners per ha), 22,000 tons millet from 15,000 ha (average yield — 14.5 centners per ha). Besides, agrarians have against threshed sunseeds — 241,000 tons from 138,000 ha (average yield — 17.5 centners per ha), rapeseeds — 2.7 million tons from one million ha (average yield — 26.1 centners per ha). It is to be admitted, as of this year Aug 29, agrarians from Zaporizhia, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv regions have started collecting soybeans. The first 40,000 tons have already been threshed from 14,000 ha (average yield — 27.7 centners per ha).
