Belarus agrarians encouraged to collect every grain

03.08.2018 22:09 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this week, while on a working visit to the Minsk region, and while examining the organization of the regional grain harvesting campaign, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has said it is necessary to put maximum effort into assuring of the country harvesting as efficient as possible, Belarus Radio says referring to BelTA report. As to the report, Lukashenko remarked that this year the grains yield within many countries is expected to be much down against last years due to hot weather. Grains crops have been devastated within Germany and Poland. The situation within France and Spain leaves much to be desired. Besides, this year grains yield within Russia is expected to be 25% down against last year. Also, Lukashenko told the weather conditions had not been difficult within all the regions of the country. Many areas will have grains big crop if timely harvested. «It will be the next topic for my travels. We have yet to gather every grain within the Mogilev region, and, besides, within the north and the center of the Minsk region, and particularly within the Vitebsk region,» he said. It is to be admitted, due to the preliminary estimates, this year Belarus grains crop will be 0.5 million tonnes down against last year. However, the country has so far 1.5 million tonnes grains reserves. «The amount is sufficient to assure the domestic raw milk, meat, poultry, and other foods’ output. This is why there are no problems with feeding the nation,» he stressed.
