Ukrainian beef starts entering Turkish market

As of now, a mission of the Directorate General of Protection and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Turkey is within Ukraine on a working visit, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, the mission is to estimate the work of system of the Ukrainian State control over the domestic beef output.
Reportedly, As of this week, Andriy Zhuk, First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection, and the Heads of several units of the Service, have has met with a representatives of the corresponding Turkish official body.
As part of the mission, experts of the Turkish Directorate General of Protection and Control are to examine the functions and powers of the Ukrainian State Service for Foods Safety and Consumer Protection as well as its local branches.
Besides, the Turksih experts are also scheduled to visit the central laboratory of the Ukrainian State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kyiv), and the State-owned company Agency for Animals Identification and Registration.
In addition, representatives of the Turkish side will make an inspection of a number of the Ukrainian agricultural companies keeping cattle, and several slaughter companies.
As to the report, following the results of its work within Ukraine, the mission will make an assessment of the system of the Ukrainian State control over the beef output.
It is to be admitted, within the meeting the both sides have exchanged their opinions over their further mutual work (in part., as for the veterinary certificates’ harmonization and prospects for their further harmonization, and as for signing of the appropriate forms necessary for the export of Ukrainian beef to Turkey).
