To improve milk qaulity, significant State support will be provided

19.01.2018 11:36 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this week, while speaking within a meeting with Ukrainian milk producers, representatives of dairy processing companies, profile associations and the public, Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olena Kovaliova said that the State will provide significant support to ensure the domestic raw milk proper quality and output safety, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. As to her, domestic producers will be able to use the funds and improve the quality of their products within the framework of the livestock support program (UAH4 milliard for 2018) and the program of development of farming and co-operation (UAH1 milliard). «The State budget stipulates a high amount to be spent for this year livestock development - UAH4 milliard. Attention will be focused on the construction and reconstruction of dairy farms, access to the necessary equipment, and the improvement of the genetic potential of the livestock population. One of the tools will be lending. At the same time, it is rational for small farms to improve the quality of raw milk through co-operation. After all, milk cooperatives also fall under the State support program by compensating for the cost of purchased equipment and machinery,» she said. As to her, work on the Ministry order on hygienic requirements for the raw milk domestic output, processing and introduction into circulation is also going on. Besides, within the meeting, discussed were also the results of the dairy industry within 2017, the directions of development of the dairy industry within short time and the prospects of expansion of domestic and foreign markets.
