Poroshenko and his family congratulated Ukrainians on Christmas

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko together with his wife Maryna Poroshenko and children Yevheniya, Oleksandra and Mykhailo congratulated Ukrainians on Christmas, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, on the occasion of the Holiday, Oleksandra played famous composition «Shchedryk» by Mykola Leontovych.
Reportedly, President reminded that for the first time, this piece of music was performed a hundred years ago and then, the Ukrainian melody became the common property of the whole mankind — under the name «Carol of the Bells».
«It is as if we see a swallow listening to it. A swallow, which brings happiness and welfare to all of us and peace and prosperity to the state,» Poroshenko said.
Reportedly, Poroshenko emphasized that Christmas is a great holiday of church and family.
As to the report, in her turn, the President’s wife stressed that bright and joyful Christmas Day inspires everyone to be sensitive and considerate, share the warmth of their hearts and reach out to help.
«I am confident that all of us want to make the world more gentle and kind. And it takes very little — to be a good example for your children, become a faithful friend, love your neighbors, Ukraine and its people. Then, our anxiety will become hope and our doubt will be substituted by the sense of dignity,» Maryna Poroshenko said.
«We wish everyone health, strong spirit, implementation of dreams and intentions, and the most important — God’s blessing. Delicious kutia and happy holidays, for there are „three holidays coming“. Christ is Born!» Poroshenko emphasized.
