Belarus offers nearly 200 investable innovative projects to China

As of now, Minsk is hosting the Belarusian-Chinese forum on commercialization of the results of the scientific and technological activity, Belarus Radio reports.
As to the report, the forum program includes the presentation of Belarus innovative and sci-tech potential, including promising projects for joint implementation, and also speeches from representatives of Chinese financial and ventures funds.
Reportedly, the forum is held under the auspices of the Belarusian State Science and Technology Committee, the Industrial Park Development Company and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
As to the report, the forum will include the ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian Innovation Fund and ten ventures companies of China.
«In the future this cooperation may lead us to the development of the Belarusian-Chinese ventures fund. China is very pragmatic in such matters and focuses finances on concrete projects. As soon as such projects appear, we will consider the issue of a joint ventures fund,» Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the Belarus State Science and Technology Committee,
admitted.
In meanwhile, while speaking within the forum, Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Park Development Company Hu Zheng admitted the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone has noticeably gained momentum.
«In organizing this seminar, we have been closely cooperating with State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. We have selected 190 key projects out of over 500 that were submitted. Representatives of more than 12 various funds and other financial institutions have arrived from China, as well as representatives of a technological cluster. They are interested in the projects that are ready for immediate launch. If there are such projects, than the Chinese companies, venture funds and financial institutions will be working with them very actively and with great interest,» Hu Zheng said.
