Health Ministry: flu death toll reaches 364 people

11.03.2016 17:49 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — From the beginning of the flu epidemic in Ukraine 364 people have died, with over 80% of deaths caused by the pandemic flu virus, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian Health Ministry report. «Since the 40th week, within 2015 Ukraine has registered 364 deaths that were confirmed to be virological flu, of which 81.3% were identified as flu virus type A (H1N1) pdm09,» the report reads. As to the report, highest flu and respiratory virus infection rate was registered in city Kyiv — 51.1 persons per 10,000 residents, the lowest — in the Kharkiv region (15.8 persons per 10,000 residents). As to the report, since the beginning of the epidemic season 129,027 people were vaccinated against flu, accounting for 0.33% of the total population of Ukraine. The highest vaccination threshold among adults was recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while among children — in the Zaporizhzhia region.
