UN condemns "despicable" terrorist attacks in Paris

16.11.2015 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The UN Secretary-General has condemned the «despicable terrorist attacks» carried out on the last week Fri evening in Paris. In a statement he extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, UN Radio reports. It is to be reminded, the ISIL terrorist group claimed that it carried out the shootings and bombings across Paris, which left at least 128 people dead, and hundreds injured. As to the report, the UN Secretary-General said that he stood with the government and people of France. Reportedly, three days of national mourning have been declared by the French President Francois Hollande. Also, the President Hollande said he regarded the coordinated assault as an «act of war» by ISIL. As to the report, the UN Security Council also issued a statement condemning the attacks as «barbaric and cowardly» and underlined the need to bring the orchestrators of the mass-killings to justice. The statement says the attacks, which were carried out in popular and busy locations, including a concert venue and the national sports stadium, represent the worst act of violence on French soil since the Second World War.
