Ukrainian President, US Treasury Secretary discussed cooperation prospects

13.11.2015 17:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of today, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with US Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports. As to the report, the Ukrainian President thanked the American party for the firm political support for Ukraine and practical assistance, inter alia, in the form of loan guarantees. Reportedly, The President noted the role of the US as a strategic and reliable partner of Ukraine in the issue of the IMF funding programs and debt restructuring. As to the report, the parties discussed the course of reforms in Ukraine, particularly tax and anti-corruption reform. They also agreed to enhance cooperation on the search of money stolen in Ukraine. The President also highlighted the importance of cooperation in the process of deoligarchization of Ukraine. As to the report, in his turn, Jacob Lew stressed that the United States would continue to insist on the necessity of full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Reportedly, the US Secretary of the Treasury, who is on his second visit to Ukraine over the past year, emphasized that the US welcomed the willingness of the Ukrainian nation to live in an independent, secure and prosperous state. Jacob Lew noted significant progress in the reformation of Ukraine and emphasized the importance of further commitment to the course of reforms.
