Ukrainian Gov approved a simplified procedure for cargo ships in ports

08.07.2015 18:46 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The Ukrainian Cabinet has adopted a decision which introduced a new procedure for the passage of cargo goods in ports. It meets European standards and will take an hour, in contrast to today’s terms up to 15 hours, Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk report at the Gov meeting today. As to Yatseniuk, the implementation of initiatives of the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry approved by the Cabinet will allow to reduce the time of stay in the Ukrainian ports, increase the country port capacity by 15–20%, and eliminate conditions for corruption schemes (estimated as much as UAH3 milliard per year). Thus, Yatseniuk is sure Ukrainian seaports will see a reduction in the number of procedures and supervisory authorities involved in the registration of cargo ships. As to Yatseniuk, the new scheme of carrying out cargo in Ukrainian ports that meets European standards will be implemented within 45 days. Term of registration of transit cargo will decline from 10–15 hours (in some cases - up to several days) to just 1 hour.
