Groisman believes gas must be provided firstly for population and social sphere

15.10.2014 16:22 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The Government is getting ready for any scenarios during the heating season, because today the issues of gas and coal for Ukraine are political, not economic ones, Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Groisman report made after the meeting of the Government’s energy crisis headquarters. While citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Coal Industry data, Volodymyr Groisman has informed that the agency continues to fulfill contracts for the coal supply. However, in order to have a clear view of the situation in the energy sector, the Vice Prime Minister has set a task for the Ministry of Coal Industry to prepare a schedule of the coal supply, electricity generation by the end of 2014 and avert any disruptions. He also said that technically Ukraine was ready for the heating season (to be started on October 1, 2014, up to the initial plan). The Ukrainian Regional Development Ministry has checked 17 regions for their readiness for winter and confirmed a hundred percent of technical readiness for the heating season. «If there are adverse weather conditions, the heating season will be launched in those regions where such weather conditions will require the switching on of the heating,» Groisman said.
