Ukrainian CEC: Parliament election to be held nationwide, including east

26.08.2014 16:13 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The election will be definitely held in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions too, NRCU reports quoting the Ukrainian Central Elections Commission Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovsky saying in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on August 26. As to Okhendovsky, it will be possible to elect deputies in every district in the case their borders and centers are adjusted and each district has at least several polling stations able to conduct the ballot. «Yet, clearly, there is a need for a special approach and special attention to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the upcoming election. The Central Elections Commission will do its best to hold the ballot in these regions with due account of the practices of the May 25 election of the Ukrainian president. The parliament’s adjustment of the Election Law is important in this context,» Okhendovsky said.
