Azarov is convinced that Kaluga investment model can work in Ukraine

At October 17, 2013, Ukrainian Government meeting, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov expressed belief that the Kaluga investment model could work in Ukraine, Government Portal reports.
«This experience was studied by members of our government, the heads of several regional administrations, representatives of Ukrainian business and experts during the business forum. They were able to communicate with top management companies around the world who work there, studied successful investment model,» Mykola Azarov noted.
He recalled about the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in a business forum «Ukraine and Russia: economic development in the light of the investment policy», which was held in the framework of the 10th meeting of the Committee on Economic Cooperation of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission.
Mykola Azarov noted that Kaluga Region in Russia became a model of investment policy development as over the past six years, the volume of industrial production in the region rose in two and half times. From the ground up completely new high-tech industries such as automobile and pharmaceutical were created. Today they produce Volkswagen, Citroen, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, consumer electronics of Samsung, medicine for the European Union and others.
According to the Prime Minister, It became possible due the proper working of the investors.
Prime Minister also stressed that attracting investment from leading European and international manufacturers gives not only increase in production. The result has much larger scale. These are technological superiority, high production and high quality new self-actualization of highly-paid workers, engineers and designers. And most importantly it is a new quality of life and social standards in the region. This is the best and fastest way to socio-economic modernization. That is why, incidentally, we are interested in access to European technology without taxes and other burdens and obstacles that will give Ukraine a Free Trade Area with the EU. So I instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to summarize developments of the business forum," Mykola Azarov summed up.
