Ukrainian President took part in opening of XXV International Agro-industrial Exhibition “Agro-2013”

Today the Ukrainian President took part in solemn opening of the XXV International Agro-industrial Exhibition «Agro-2013», President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.
Before the ceremony, the President examined several pavilions with scientific agro-industrial projects. Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk reported to the President on implementation of State program of activation of economic development for 2013–2014 in agricultural sector. He stressed that the main directions of that program were creation of efficient mechanisms of agricultural land turnover, improvement of legislation in that sphere and development of cattle breeding. M. Prysiazhniuk also stressed that in the course of 2013–2014, building and reconstruction of 153 livestock facilities was planned.
The Minister also drew attention to socio-economic development of rural areas under the program «Native village» that was elaborated under the instruction of the President. «This program must stimulate economic and socio-oriented processes in the village,» the Minister said.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, the exhibition hosts more than 1400 companies, 120 000 visitors and 17 countries, particularly Russia, Belarus, Italy, Germany, India, China, USA, Turkey and Great Britain.
«Today’s event allows us to evaluate our achievements and demonstrate powerful potential of our agricultural sector to foreign guests,» the Head of State noted.
He expressed belief: «Today’s event that demonstrates the most modern achievements of national agriculture and the agriculture of our foreign partners would facilitate strengthening of Ukraine’s authority on the world arena».
«I hope that participation of leading agro-industrial enterprises in the exhibition would broaden business cooperation with international partners,» the Head of State said.
After his speech, Viktor Yanukovych had a conversation with participants of the exhibition and examined the samples of products of Kherson machine-building plant, particularly grain harvesters produced in Ukraine within the framework of Ukrainian-German investment project.
