Azarov: Through economic development we will ensure the increase in welfare of our people

This was announced by Prime Minister on January 23, while opening the session of the Cabinet of Ministers, Mykola Azarov Official Website reports.
«The economy exists and works not for itself. Economic development has one ultimate goal — the increase in welfare of our people,» Mykola Azarov emphasized.
According to him, Ukraine’s economy has every chance to get to a more high-quality and upper level. To do this, we need new solutions and innovative approaches.
"Every member of the Government has been charged with a certain direction of reform. Everyone is responsible for implementation of specific provisions of the National Action Plan — Prime Minister reminded. — Together with leading experts, with civil society institutes we have already begun an in-depth analysis of practising reforms. To immediately gain the necessary adjustments of our policy, we need to find creative solutions and organize their implementation. "
He noted that the goal of the programme of economic development, that is being designed now, is to provide maximum dynamic to priority sectors that have high growth potential: «The Government should create almost a national business plan to increase the volume of domestic production (especially in high-tech sectors and in production of consumer goods), the development of the internal market. On this basis, to replace imported products with domestically produced goods and to increase exports, to achieve a trade surplus.»
Prime Minister said that for the first time as part of a single programme substantial funds were allocated for industrial modernization and restructuring of the economy, and public investments were systematically complemented by incentives of economic freedom.
«We are working to ensure that our citizens could consume more, that our domestic economy could produce more goods and services,»,Mykola Azarov said.
