Mykola Azarov: Trade turnover between Ukraine and China will reach USD 10 bln in 2013

The Prime Minister Mykola Azarov considers that in 2013 the trade turnover between Ukraine and China will reach USD 10 billion. He announced that in the course of a meeting with a member of the National Council of the People’s Republic of China, Minister of National Defense of China Colonel General Liang Guangle, Government Portal reports.
«Our trade-economic relations develop rather well. I think that this year our trade turnover can rise up to 10 billion dollars. A significant role in this fact is played by our intergovernmental commission that we set up in 2011,» the head of the Government stressed.
He added that Ukraine is ready to activate military cooperation with China and expressed hopes that the visit of the minister of defense of China to Ukraine would contribute to strengthening of the cooperation.
According to Mykola Azarov, a good example of bilateral cooperation in the military domain appears construction by Ukraine of air pillow ships for the Chinese Army. Perspective, in the Prime Minister’s view, appears cooperation in airspace domain.
In his turn, Liang Guangle noted that China is tuned to activation of strategic cooperation with Ukraine, in particular in the military domain as well. «China is ready to continue strengthening of cooperation with Ukraine in all the areas in order to transfer to a qualitatively new level the relations of strategic partnership between our countries,» the Minister of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China emphasized.
He urged Ukraine and China possess huge opportunities for the development of bipartite relations.
