Yushchenko appointed Sydorenko Land Resources Committee Chairman instead of Danylenko

01.09.2005 11:26 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As to President Decrees № 1160/№ 1161 from Aug 18, President Viktor Yushchenko has removed Anatoliy Danylenko from position of State Committee for Land Resources Chairman and nominated Myckola Sydorenko for this position. 58-years old Sydorenko is VR deputy (Ukrainian People Party fraction). 52-years old Danylenko has held Land Resources Committee Chairman post since Sept 1999. As earlier reported, within mid Mar Roman Bezsmertniy, Administrative and Territorial Reform Vice-Premier, declared Cabinet was going to reform State Committee for Land Resources; Bezsmertniy noted elaboration, production and control functions couldn’t be coordinated by a single organ (be it State Committee for Land Resources, State Forestry Committee or State Committee for Water Resources) and proposed control functions to be commissioned to Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, land ownership right registration functions to be handed over to Justice Ministry, while land market administrating/land relations regulation functions — to be overtaken by State Committee for Land Resources. In Dec 2004 VR had prolonged agricultural lands selling moratorium up till 2007. Ukrainian territory totals 60.354 million ha (agricultural lands — 41.8 million ha (69.3% total territory), arables — 33 million ha). " 50% lands are State-owned.
