Cabinet can pay agrarians spring crops UAH170 million compensation debts after 2005-Budget revisal

24.05.2005 10:30 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Cabinet is going to pay spring crops cultivating agricultural companies 2004 compensation debts after 2005-Budget revisal, reported Oleksandr Baranovskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy, during «hot line» talks with journalists. As to Baranovskiy, necessary financing will be allotted after Budget next revisal. As earlier reported, end Sept 2004 Cabinet had boosted 2004 State Budget agrarians subsidies from UAH50 million up to UAH350 million; in part., Cabinet had decided to subsidize not only spring wheat, yet as well spring barley, oats, grain maize, peas, buckwheat, millet and rice cultivation. In early 2004 Cabinet had decided to subsidize spring wheat cultivation and established UAH50/ha compensation. In Oct 2003 Cabinet, having had adopted Resolution (from Oct 8, 2003) «About Establishing of Order of State Budget Means Allotting for Agricultural Goods Producers as Compensation for Sown Grains», allotted to agrarians UAH360 million from 2003-Budget for grains sowing expenditures compensation. Agrarians have ended early grains/leguminous sowing at 5.1 million ha. This spring agrarians plan to sow spring grains/leguminous at total 8 million ha (down 1 million ha as of sown for 2004 harvest). Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts this year grain crop will reach 37.4 million tons.
