Ministry of Agrarian Policy to establish 2005-grain ministry prices, with 3 class wheat price fixed UAH690/t

18.03.2005 11:27 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ministry of Agrarian Policy proposes to Cabinet establishing this year crop grain minimal prices with, in particular, 3 class wheat price to be fixed UAH690/t, report press agencies referring to Oleksandr Baranovskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy. As to Baranovskiy, minimal prices are necessary to prevent agrarians selling their products at low prices. Baranovskiy added in short time Ministry of Agrarian Policy will promulgate this year mortgage grain prices offers. As earlier reported, in 2004 Cabinet had established 2004-crop 3 class wheat mortgage prices UAH650/t (VAT excluded), with prices effective within Jul 1, 2004 — Mar 1, 2005. Mortgage prices mechanism stipulates foodstuffs purchasing in order to compensate agrarians production cost as well as to assure minimal profit in case of market excessive supply. As earlier reported, in 2004 Cabinet In May, 2004 Cabinet had established 2004-crop 3 class wheat mortgage prices UAH650/t (VAT excluded), with prices effective within Jul 1, 2004 — Mar 1, 2005.
