Pakistan Flour Mills Association website goes online

29.07.2010 11:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Minister for Information Technology Sindh, Mohammed Raza Haroon commending the first ever website of Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) hoped that it will showcase the Association and its products to local stake holders and abroad and further develop the business opportunities. Speaking as chief guest during the inauguration ceremony of PFMA, South Zone Sindh held in a local hotel he urged PFMA to regularly update the website with the detailed new developments with accurate transparency in order to develop the credibility and interest for the website as through internet they now access to the offices and houses globally to find out what they have to offer. He advised PFMA to keep the interest of Pakistani nation in mind being a patriot and portray Pakistan’s soft positive image abroad. Earlier in his opening remarks chairman PFMA Mohammed Yousuf recalled the old communication system of pigeons and said that as technology is shrinking rapidly it is this reason that provoked PFMA to establish their own website for all the stake holders for a progressive future. Immediate Past President PFMA Syed Jauher Ali Qandhari in his key note address stressed that in today’s era no business be it local or international can develop with out the usage of IT. Wheat and flour being the essential and sensational commodities which are in use of both rich and poor alike without any cast or creed has resulted in the development of this website to cater to its 1,200 industries with the grinding capacity of 3.6 million tonnes to 4 million tonnes annually. He further added that so far PFMA has invested Rs20 billion besides providing direct and indirect employment to several thousand unemployed and at the same time is also contributing roughly over Rs20 million to the national exchequer in duties and taxes. He apprised that the website will be regularly updated with latest prices of wheat and flour of the Private, Government and Imported sector for all the stake holders besides other relevant information will be also readily available. Secretary PFMA Shakil Ahmed giving a detailed presentation said that it will provide complete information to all its members and new application form for membership can also be downloaded and submitted online for approval. Later Raza Haroon along with Central Chairman PFMA Iqbal Dawood, Vice president FPCCI Mumtaz Ali Sheikh, Ansar Jawed, A. K. Memon, Mian Mehmood Ahmed and others formally launched the website Published by HT Syndication with permission from South Asian Media Network.
