Oil processing plants will be given less sunseeds

On its next meeting, Government is going to examine problems of domestic sunoil market stabilization. Thus, in part., Government thinks over variant of sunseeds minimal purchase prices introduction; besides, as to Government plans, oil processing plants functioning must be controlled by Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee (UAC). On its today meeting with domestic market participants, UAC will demand sunoil prices declining (for sunoil produced from this year crop sunseeds). Government is going to elaborate measures to raise domestic market sunseeds prices and regulate sunseeds export policy. As to Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk, sunseeds current purchase prices are down against sunseeds production cost price. “We face losses: as of now, sunseeds are purchased UAH950-1,150 per MT despite UAH1,700 per MT average cost price,” declared Minister. However, Minister admitted sunseeds minimal purchase prices introduction isn’t the best way to solve market present problems. As to him, new turn of sunoil producers inspections/sale networks monitoring is also possible. As to Premier Yuliya Tymoshenko, now retail sale networks sunoil prices don’t correspond with sunseeds resources (whose prices are down 3 times against last year). “Despite of that, supermarkets ready products prices remain as high as earlier. I don’t understand this prices conjuncture, this disproportion. In particular, Antimonopoly Committee must now take up some regulative measures to push down sunoil prices for sunoil produced from new sunseeds crop,” declared Premier. Besides, in their efforts to decline sunoil sale prices, Ukrainian officials are going to liberalize sunseeds export.
