Pesticides control to be automated/toughened

Due to Ukraine having joined WTO and in order to assure Ukrainian integration into EU, regulate Ukrainian stockbreeding/plant growing products bringing to global market, improve forms/methods of preparation of Ukrainian pesticides market participants through assuring of their activity effective control and prevent bringing to Ukrainian market low quality pesticides, Ministry of Agrarian Policy has proposed to approve concept of National Purpose-Oriented 2009-2013 Program of Pesticides Availability/Usage Registration, says Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service referring to draft Decree elaborated by Ministry for Cabinet. As to press-service, draft Decree authors affirm Program is targeted at creation of informational system on basis of up-to-date technologies which will make it possible, in part., to create system of tough control over pesticides availability/usage registration on Ukrainian territory, assure introduction of all-country pesticides suppliers/consumers (as well as all exported pesticides) unified data base, create additional automated working places to assure data quick collecting, processing and sending within country Agrarian-Industrial Complex. Besides, draft Decree says Program introduction is also targeted at data collecting/sending processes automation, providing of centralized pesticides transportation control at all levels (consumer – supplier – district State Plants Protection Inspection – regional State Plants Protection Inspection – Main State Plants Protection Inspection – State Customs House), assuring of quick data changes in case of licensing/permissions issuance systems data correction, sparing of budgetary means due to control being executed by State Plants Protection Inspections in AR of the Crimea (as well as district/regional Inspections), on-line data reception possibility. As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Ukrainian agricultural production annual gross crop losses (caused by plants pests, diseases and weeds) are ≈ 30% (incl. grains – 25-30%, sugar beet – 20-27%, sunseeds – 23-25%, soybeans/potatoes – 32-35%, vegetables – 27% and fruits – over 48%).
