Cabinet to introduce 360,000 MT sunoil export quotas

24.01.2008 12:57 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As to Association Ukroliyaprom General Director Stepan Kapshuk Jan 23 report, Cabinet is going to establish 360,000 MT crude sunoil export quotas since Mar 15 (to be effective till this MY end).

As to Kapshuk, corresponding Cabinet draft Decree is now examined by Ministry of Economics.

General Director admitted Cabinet is going to adopt draft Decree Feb 15 to be followed with monthly “buffer period” and then with export limitations coming into effect. However, Kapshuk said he is going to ask Government to delay sunoil export limitations possible introduction for still one more month (until Apr 15).

It is to be reminded, sunoil export quotas introduction decision was initiated by Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

As to Kapshuk, Ukroliyaprom thinks sunoil export quoting/licensing introduction is inexpedient as it may result in Ukrainian sunoil output significant decline/foreign sale markets

loss. Besides, Ukroliyaprom experts forecast sunseeds export will sharply boost if sunoil export limitations are introduced, leading to country fat-and-oil complex companies shutdown, domestic sunoil market destabilization, sunoil rushing demand rise and retail sale network prices double growth.

As to Association Ukroliyaprom, within Sept-Dec 2007 companies have exported 570,000 MT sunoil, up 54,100 MT (+ 10.5%) against 2006 similar.

As to Association, within Sept-Dec 2007 all Ukrainian fat-and-oil complex companies have produced 759,200 MT crude sunoil.
