Myckolayiv region grains crops unviable at ≈ 500,000 ha

Despite Myckolayiv region springtime field works complex having been organized highly effectively with all technological requirements being strictly kept to, regional Agrarian-Industrial Complex current situation remains quite complicated due to only reason, — drastic weather conditions. Thus, as of May 23, grains appeared unviable at ≈ 500,000 ha (of total 500,000 ha winter grains/349,000 ha spring grains sown areas). Examinations prove that destroyed grains areas are enlarging each day, reported Anton Yakovlev, Chief of Myckolayiv region Agriculture and Foods Main Department (Regional State Administration) within meeting of Myckolayiv Regional Council Permanent Deputies Commission for Agrarian Policy, Land Relations, Rural Construction and Social Development.
Deputies Commission meeting was participated by Oleksandr Sadykov (Myckolayiv Regional State Administration Head), Tetiana Demchenko (Myckolayiv Regional Council Chief), districts State Administrations/Councils chiefs as well as managers of Regional State Administration corresponding structural subdivisions.
As to Myckolayiv Regional State Administration press-service, last Fri region top management had meeting with Viktor Slauta (Agrarian-Industrial Complex Vice Prime Minister/ Ministry of Agrarian Policy Deputy Minister), due to future crop problems having had been already discussed within Regional State Administration collegium held prior to Deputies Commission meeting.
As to press-service, on May 21, Myckolayiv region was visited by Ministry of Agrarian Policy working group; on May 23, Myckolayiv region Agrarian-Industrial Complex condition was discussed on Cabinet meeting.
In meanwhile, within Deputies Commission meeting, Myckolayiv Regional Council agrarian deputies addressed appeal/recommendations to Ukrainian President, Verkhovna Rada and Cabinet regarding Myckolayiv regional Agrarian-Industrial Complex critical condition.
