Ministry of Agrarian Policy satisfied with 2007 sowing rates

27.03.2007 10:42 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ministry of Agrarian Policy is satisfied with this year springtime field works rates, reported Ministry press-service referring to Borys Supikhanov (First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy) declaration made on National Reforms Press Club meeting. As to Supikhanov, this year springtime field works are performed without any bustle. He said springtime field works complex has been already launched in entire Ukraine, with sowing being executed with various activeness depending on regions. As to him, AR of the Crimea/Odessa region agrarians have already finished early spring grains sowing. Deputy Minister made it known all agricultural companies are fully provided with spring grains seeds. He said State Seeds Fund has  40,000 MT high-grade qualitative seeds, to be used in case of non-standard situations. As to Supikhanov estimation, now all Ukrainian agricultural companies are fully provided with fuels/lubricants. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, agrarians had sown early spring grains at 1.5 mn ha. As to Agro Perspective, earlier Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts had forecasted 2007 total grains sown areas would reach 14 mn ha.
