Ministry of Agrarian Policy raised 4 class soft wheat 2006/07 MY purchase prices

26.10.2006 14:01 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy Decree

№ 584 (registered Oct 20, 2006 in Justice Ministry under № 1131/13005) «About Bringing Changes into Ministry of Agrarian Policy Decree № 282 from Jun 7, 2006», Ministry has grown 4 class soft wheat minimal purchase price from UAH610 per MT up to UAH650 per MT (maximal — from UAH680 per MT up to UAH720 per MT) for 2006/07 MY.

As to Decree, Ministry has adopted this decision due to Ukrainian grain market condition having much complicated owing to a number of objective factors (incl. global food grain output decline/purchase prices sharp rise).

Besides, Decree is also targeted at forming of State Food Grain Reserve by Agrarian Fund in volume stipulated by Law «About State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine» as well as

Cabinet Order № 474 from Aug 30, 2006 «About Some Measures on Grain Market Regulation».

As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of this year Oct 16, Agrarian Fund had in total 246,000 MT mortgage grain.

As to Agro Perspective, Fund is going to form 565,000 MT State Food Grain Reserve until Dec 1, 2006 due to Cabinet commission.

As of end Aug 2006, Cabinet had commissioned Agrarian Fund to buy 400,000 MT food grain (2006 crop) for State Food Grain Reserve.

Earlier, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had commissioned Fund to form country 565,000 MT food grain reserve in 2006.
