Vinnytsia region to purchase 240,000 MT for regional reserves

Vinnytsia region is going to acquire 240,000 food grain to regional reserve in order to form regional grain year reserve, reported Vasil Cherniy, Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Deputy Chairman. As to him, Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Chairman has already prepared corresponding draft Decree stipulating all districts State Administrations as well as Cities Councils Executive Committees (for cities of regional importance) should execute this year crop food grain purchasing only through accredited goods exchanges (with purchased grain volumes determined by draft Decree) until this year Oct 1. As to draft Decree, Districts/Cities Councils sessions will have to examine question of financial means allocation (targeted at regional grain reserve fund forming) from local budgets. Cherniy made it known draft Decree as well stipulates State-owned Joint Stock Company Bread of Ukraine, grain acceptance/storage companies as well as Company Vinnytsiakhlib, Subsidiary and Administration of Regional Union of Consumer Societies should be attracted to process of regional grains resources forming/usage. «Vinnytsia Regional Agriculture and Foods Main Department will hold contest to determine those economy activity entities which take part in regional grain reserves forming/usage,» declared Cherniy. Reportedly, as of Jul 16, Vinnytsia region agrarians had started grains harvesting. Vinnytsia region forecasts this year grains gross crop will remain 2.1 mn MT (unchanged against last year); as to forecast, this year food wheat/rye crop will reach 820,000 MT. Region food grain yearly requirement is 240.000 MT. In 2006 Vinnytsia region agricultural companies have sown spring crops at 1,010.474 ha. Region winter crops sown areas total 350,000 ha.
