Biofuel producers to unite into Association Ukrbioenergo

As of May 16, Ukrainian producers of bioenergy resources/fuel and bionergetics equipment/scientific backup decided to integrate into Association Ukrbioenergo, reported Vitaliy Drobot, Ukrbioenergo Directors Board Chairman (also adviser of Ukrainian Vice-Premier for Agrarian Policy). As to Drobot, Association includes about 30 members, what is just a little part of all Ukrainian producers. Grygoriy Kaletnyk (VR deputy from Party of Regions) was nominated Association Chairman. Drobot admits necessity of coming over to fuels which are alternative to natural gas is now extremely urgent in Ukraine. «Country energy resources situation has become catastrophical; there will be no return to earlier used cheap fuels any more,» declared Ukrbioenergo Directors Board Chairman. As to Drobot, Association Ukrbioenergo is going to represent its members interests in legislative authorities bodies as well as elaborate normative acts to be passed over for Parliament/Cabinet examination. Besides, Ukrbioenergo will also coordinate its members activity as well as provide producers informational cooperation. As to Drobot, Association is going to establish Ukrainian bioenergetics industry ready products standardization/certification. As earlier reported, in Jan Cabinet had approved concept of country biofuel production development until 2010. Ministry of Agrarian Policy is going to initiate introduction of privileges for rape cultivation as well as biodiesel production/consumption. As earlier reported, Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasted 2006 rape crop to reach 700,000–750,000 MT. In 2005 Ukrainian agrarians had sown rape at 234,000 ha.
