Poroshenko: We don’t give up despite pressure

As of yesterday, while on a working visit to the USA, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has taken part in the Forum «Ukraine’s Battle for Freedom Continues», , President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, while speaking within the Forum, Poroshenko emphasized that «to secure success, we have to ensure sustainable transformation of Ukraine».
The President noted that in the last two years, Ukraine had managed to rebuild the army and make a first but critical blow against corruption.
«The capital renovation of the anti-corruption institutional system has been finalized. From now on our priority goal is to make it functional and operational,» Poroshenko said.
As to the report, at the same time, the President noted that the appointment of new highly professional, responsible, well-trusted Prosecutor General would trigger a new page in anti-corruption policy of Ukraine.
As to Poroshenko, Ukraine has managed to stabilize economic and financial situation. Its golden currency reserve has grown from virtually zero to US$13 milliard.
Also, the President mentioned efficiency of Ukraine in stabilization of the banking system, deregulation sphere, simplification of business registration and tax system. «We have taken hard but important decisions in the energy sector which lead to Ukraine’s energy independence,» he said.
Also, the President admitted that the latest governmental crisis was a challenge, but «we have to come out of it more resilient to internal and external shocks».
As to the report, Poroshenko believes that the formation of a new government and coalition should be based on clear principles with a clear program for the government based on IMF commitments, Association Agreement with the EU, anti-corruption fight and the Minsk agreements implementation.
