Poroshenko: We will survive if we are united

We can survive only if we are united. And it is related not only to the Government, Parliament and President, but also to the entire nation, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office says referring to the Poroshenko interview to Pershyi Natsionalnyi TV channel.
«Ukraine lives in conditions of war, in conditions of occupied territories. We must face the truth. About 25% of industrial potential of our country was terminated, 10% was ruined. Defense expenditures make up more than 90 billion today. At the same time, the country finds enough strength to ensure these expenditures. As long as there is war, investments will not come to Ukraine. We must tell people the truth,» the President emphasized.
Besides, Poroshenko also said that reforms couldn’t be quick. In fact, their implementation began after parliamentary elections.
Also, he reminded that a pro-European coalition, which is working to legislatively adopt necessary reforms, had been rapidly formed after the elections. «We will build a different economy and overcome corruption. Overcoming corruption is not just voting for the Anti-Corruption Bureau or for the laws against corruption. Corruption has a specific surname, name and person, which must be imprisoned,» the President noted.
For this end, he said, the authorities make a decision to implement judicial reform, particularly to adopt the Law «On Ensuring the Right to Fair Court». «I cannot put up with the fact that judicial caste is an outpost to protect corrupt officials,» the President said.
He said he was hopeful that the Supreme Council of Justice would be soon formed in order to enhance the liability of judges. He reminded that Verkhovna Rada had already removed the immunity of three judges.
Besides, the President also touched upon the medical reform. As to him, the task is to demonstrate concrete steps within two months: procurement of medicines must be carried out by international organizations, not by corrupt officials. In addition, registration of medicines certified in USA, countries of the EU and G7 should also be abolished.
