As to State Statistics Committee data, Ukrainian Apr 2011 fermented milk products’ import has grown to 674,330 MT, up 0.8% against Mar 2011. In Apr 2011, Ukraine imported fermented milk products mainly from RF (546,690 MT).
As to Committee, Ukrainian Apr 2011 fermented milk products’ output equaled to 37,769 MT (down 5.2% against Mar 2011, but up 0.8% as of Mar 2010). In Apr 2011, Kyiv region, Lviv region, Dnipropetrovsk region and Kharkiv region have succeeded to produce biggest fermented milk products’ lots among all other Ukrainian regions; leading producers were CJSC Galychyna (Lviv region) and CJSC Donetskiy City Dairy Plant ¹2 (Donetsk region).
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices have grown to UAH2629 per kg, up 1.9% against previous week; however, this week domestic market SMP sale rates remained insignificant.
Within this week SMP export prices (for non-CIS countries) have risen to S$2,9003,100 per MT, up 12.1% as of previous week US$2,6002,750 per MT.
It is to be admitted, within this year May Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices fluctuated within very wide range: those producers which make high-quality SMP (as well as those which have succeeded to enter RF market) were selling SMP at rather high prices UAH27,00030,000 per MT, while producers which make ordinary SMP (as well as producers oriented upon western countries’ purchasers) had to sell their SMP at prices down 1013%.
In meanwhile, global SMP market recent stabilization has stimulated traders to resume Ukrainian SMP purchases; as of this week, some traders were bidding, as earlier, US$2,700 per MT purchase prices, while others were ready to pay even US$3,000 per MT for high-quality SMP.
Within reporting week SMP export price (RF/Kazakhstan) was about US$3,300 per MT.
Within reporting week domestic market WMP prices remained UAH3334 per kg, unchanged against previous week; however, this week WMP export prices have grown to US$3,4003,600 per MT.
Within this week domestic market cheese prices have climbed to UAH4548,5 per kg, up 8.1% against previous week. As of this week, Ukrainian companies exported cheese in just small lots with export prices fluctuating within US$5,1005,300 per MT.
Within reporting week domestic/global market casein prices have grown against previous week.
Within this week domestic market casein prices ranged within UAH7879 per kg; as of this week, casein export prices have grown to US$9,2009,300 per MT, up 0.8% as of last week.
Within reporting week domestic market butter prices have risen by 6.8% against previous week, up to UAH3940 per kg; this week butter export prices remained US$3,7003,900 per MT, unchanged as of last week.
