As to State Statistics Committee data, Ukrainian Apr 2011 cream output has shortened to 3,193 MT, down 8.8% against Mar 2011. However, Ukrainian Apr 2011 cream output is up 2,4 times as of Apr 2010.
As to Committee, as of May 01/11, Ukrainian cattle number totaled 5,179.200 heads, down 5.9% against May 01/10 (incl. cows’ number 2,659.600 heads, down 3.8% against May 01/10).
In meanwhile, Ukrainian State is going to start butter/milk powder purchasing. Thus, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has yesterday declared Agrarian Fund will be allocated about UAH1 milliard from State budget to perform domestic market butter/milk powder purchasing. It is to be admitted, expected purchases are rather large-scale, so domestic market butter prices have already boosted by 7.2% (milk powder prices are quite possible to boost as high).
On last week Tue Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food meeting, Myckola Bezugliy (Agrarian Policy and Food First Deputy Minister) commissioned Agrarian Fund to start domestic market butter/milk powder purchasing.
As to Ministry press-service yesterday report, Agrarian Fund will be allocated UAH756 million from State budget to perform domestic market 18,000 MT butter purchase and UAH210 million to make 6,000 MT milk powder purchase.
As to press-service, first butter/milk powder purchasing tender is scheduled to be launched already on this year Jun 1, with butter/milk powder to be purchased only from producers in 200 MT lots.
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic SMP market situation remained same as within previous week. As earlier, within this week SMP average sale price was UAH26,5 per kg; however, SMP sale prices range has become wider UAH2528 per kg.
Within this week domestic market SMP sale rates remained insignificant.
Within reporting week SMP export prices (for non-CIS countries) have declined to S$2,7502,800 per MT, down 2.6% as of previous week US$2,8002,900 per MT.
As of this week, domestic market cheese prices ranged within UAH3843 per kg. As of this week, Ukrainian companies exported cheese in just small lots with export prices fluctuating within US$5,4005,600 per MT (down 0.5% as of previous week).
Within this week domestic/global market casein prices have grown against previous week.
As of this week, domestic market casein prices have risen to UAH7475 per kg, up 4.5% as of last week. However, domestic casein trade rates were very slack.
Within reporting week casein export prices ranged within US$8,7008,900 per MT.
As of this week, domestic market butter prices have grown by 7.2% against previous week, up to UAH3437 per kg; this week butter export prices remained US$3,8004,000 per MT, unchanged against previous week.
Within reporting week domestic market WMP prices have declined to UAH3334 per kg; WMP export prices have lowered to US$3,4503,500 per MT, down 4.8% as of last week.
